- A. Jane Milburn
Jane Milburn joined Teplitsky, Colson LLP in 1997 and is a partner with the firm. Ms. Milburn was called to the Ontario bar in 1997 following her articles with one of Canada’s largest law firms. She obtained her law degree from the University of Toronto in 1995. A substantial portion of Ms. Milburn's practice focuses on advising senior executives about employment matters. Ms. Milburn also acts as counsel in commercial litigation matters, partnership disputes, professional negligence cases and shareholder disputes. In her employment practice, she regularly advises employees and companies about termination of employment, offers of employment, international assignments and complex constructive dismissals. She has a particular wealth of knowledge and experience in dealing with employment issues for clients working in the financial services industry. She advises clients who experience health problems which affect their ability to work and provides counsel to clients about harassment and bullying in the workplace. She is a skilled negotiator and advocate and maintains a high level of client service. Ms. Milburn has appeared as counsel in all levels of court in Ontario and has represented clients at mediations and arbitrations. Ms. Milburn has presented a paper about employees with disabilities to the Ontario Bar Association and she has participated as a panel member on CBC Newsworld. She has spoken at other conferences and was also the co-author of a paper presented at the 2007 Special Lectures at the Law Society of Upper Canada. Ms. Milburn has acted as an articling principal and regularly participates as a judge in the Moot Court Program at the University of Toronto.
